Subject Choices

Students in Years 7 and 8 follow a prescribed curriculum.

Students in Years 9 and 10 complete a range of core subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, Australian History, Australian Geography, Agriculture and Personal Development, Health & Physical Education. Students choose a major elective subject, studied for two years, and two minor electives studied for one year each.

Elective subjects that have been offered for study in Years 9 and 10 in recent times are:

Food Technology
Japanese
Graphic Technology
Visual Arts
Information Software & Technology
IT – Engineering
Physical Activity & Sports Studies
Dance
Music
IT – Multimedia
Drama

Please note that not all of these subjects will form classes every year. The formation of classes is dependent upon the number of students who select the class.

Students in Year 11 study English and at least ten units of subjects of their own choice; generally most students study six 2 unit subjects, which includes English. Extension subjects are only offered in English* and Mathematics*.

Students in Year 12 continue to study English, but only need to study a minimum of eight other units. Extension units are offered in History*, Japanese* and Music*, and further extension units are available in English* and Mathematics*.
